Lord Lamba, a popular Nigerian skit maker and the father of a BBN Queen’s daughter, has recently addressed the public about a child custody dispute involving his daughter. In his statement posted on Instagram on Monday, March 4, Lamba delved into the details of the situation.
According to Lamba’s statement, his initial decision was to keep his child off social media platforms to avoid exposing her to online harassment. However, as the father, he reserved the right to change his mind at any time, and he recently decided to share his daughter’s photos on Instagram.
Lamba also addressed accusations that he was a deadbeat dad who had not been involved in his child’s life. He refuted these claims and stated that he had always been an active and present father. He shared that he had attended his daughter’s first birthday and had taken her out for a play date, among many other things.
His post reads; “First of all God knows I sincerely don’t want my child’s face on social media because I don’t want her to get trolled and yes I have the right to do that I am her Father
“I see comments of people saying I don’t want to be in my kid’s life, if I didnt want to claim my child publicly I wouldn’t have been at her birthday party, I wouldn’t have taken her out for play date, but anyways my interest is my daughter and I will do anything to protect her, my self and her mom are public figures , but she is only a minor.
“I HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE TO ALLOW MY CHILD GROW AND DECIDE IF SHE WANTS TO BE IN SOCIAL MEDIA OR NOT .. The fact I have seen children trolled and called names on social media probably because parents are public figures. Me spending time with my child in public ( real life ) makes more sence to me than social media . My child is not clickbaitit or my craft … I LOVE YOU KAILEH.”
Interestingly, Lamba’s statement came a few days after BBN Queen announced her engagement to David, a UK-based lover. On the same day, Lamba shared his daughter’s photo on his Instagram page for the first time since her birth in December 2022.
It was later reported that Lamba had approached the court to seek full custody of his daughter. His reason for doing so was that he wanted to be the one to raise her, rather than allowing another man to train her. This move by Lamba has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some applauding him for being a responsible father and others questioning his motives.
