Big Brother Naija viewers and social media users have criticized former Shine Ya Eye Housemate, and reality television star, Pere Egbi for begging for money on his birthday.
Pere turned 37 on June 27, 2022, and his supporters and well-wishers have celebrated him, wishing him a happy birthday and gifting him birthday surprises.
However, some of Pere’s rival supporters have taken to the internet to react to the situation, where Pere attached a donation statement on his Instagram live, demanding that people should donate money for him.
According to the statement, Pere solicited for people to buy a badge through his Instagram live to support him on his birthday.

Reacting to this, Pere’s rival supporters and internet users who were waiting for such thing to happen condemned him, saying that it’s shameful to see such from a buoyant gentleman like Pere.
And majority of Pere’s critics are Maria’s supporters, who concluded that Pere was trying to compete with Maria’s boyfriend, who celebrated his birthday, in Dubai, almost a week before Pere’s.

On the other hand, Pere’s supporters were out to defend their man, as they slam Maria’s supporters for criticizing Pere.
Pere’s supporters confirmed that they spent up to N20 million preparing for Pere’s birthday, adding that asking fans to buy a badge wasn’t that deep to have prompted so much criticism from rival supporters.
