BBNaija: Organizers apologize for defaming Kiddwaya over Laycon

Hours after making a publication on their website which seemed biased, BBNaija fandom took to social media to call out the organizers of the reality show accusing them of taking side in the article.

MultiChoice through its mouthpiece Big Brother later on tendered apology to BBNaija family and one of the Housemates, Kiddwaya who after the Saturday night party on August 8, unknowingly met himself being defamed over the inactions of his love interest Erica.

The publication was solely in favour of Kiddwaya’s co-housemate, Laycon who after seeing Erica drunk at the party, refused allowing her to sleep in Kiddwaya’s room who he (Laycon) thought will take advantage of her.

Moreover, Laycon through the help of some female Housemates, Dorathy, Lucy and Tolanibaj took care of tipsy Erica till she slept.

Following the demeaning publication which has already been deleted from the Africamagic official website (see it on the screenshot below or VIEW HERE), a justification post was made on Twitter platform.

The organizers blamed their irresponsibility on being a little carried away and allowing their emotions get best of them.

The posts read, “Well that was embarrassing! We admit we got a little too carried away and we let our emotions get the best of us. Please remember that the power, as always, remains in your hands.

It continued, “The winner of BBNaija is purely determined by the votes of the fans, so keep voting your favorite Housemate to remain in the competition. Tune in to the LIVE show at 7pm to see who goes home today.”

Kiddwaya and his fans also took to social media platforms to debunk the article for claiming he’s a serial flirt and possibly a rapist who would have allegedly taken advantage of Erica.

The fans supported their outcry with the hashtag #JusticeForKiddwaya which is currently on topmost Twitter trends.

Some of the tweets read,

“Every woman deserves to walk freely without the fear of getting hurt because of how she looks or dresses .
iStand against abuse , iStand against rape . Stand with me and together we can fight and conquer!

“It’s ok to feel threatened by a persons influence and success but it’s not enough reason for you to invest your resources in creating negative descriptions of that person. I care about women too much to permit a negative intention or behaviour towards them.”
