Nigerian popular music mogul and Mavin Records Chief Executive Officer, Michael Collins Ajereh better known as Don Jazzy has revealed he never had money issues with his former artiste, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo well-known as D’banj.
Jazzy made this known on Instagram live chat with Made Men Music Group boss, Ubi Franklin during his popular ‘Talk With Ubi’ session.
According to the record producer, the reason he was in good terms with D’banj was as a result of sincerity and genuineness that existed between them.
In his words, he and D’banj were in sync that the singer goes out for an appointment and comes straight to him for them to share whatever money he came back with.
He also revealed that some artistes who always have problem with their record labels is as a result of how the label has kept its terms and conditions with the artiste.
He stated;
“If you’re not in good terms with the artiste, that’s when the artiste will go and be collecting shows and will not come and tell you that they went to go and do shows. If you’re not in good terms with the artiste, the artiste will go and be cutting corners here and there.
“The way I am with my people in my company, like myself and D’banj. Money issues didn’t occur. Me and D’banj we were so in sync to the point that D’banj can go to Oba of Lagos and will be given N 10 million naira, he will still come and we share that money. The money doesn’t have anything to do with performance, or song streaming but because of how we were.”
