Super duper actor, Yul Edochie has recounted the traumatic experience he received as teen after he told his dad, Pete Edochie that he would want to stop going to school at Junior Secondary 2 (JS2) level.
Yul Edochie shared on his micro-blogging page April 23 that he once told his dad who is a well known veteran actor, Pete Edochie that he’s tired of going to school and would want to quit to start up a retailing shop that sells electrical appliances.
However, Yul continued that his dad responded by simply taking him inside a room, locked the door, untied his belt and gave him thorough flogging, adding that the beating left his brain on factory reset.
He wrote;
“In JS2, I told my father I didn’t want to go to school anymore, he should open electrical shop for me. He said ok. He Invited me to his room, locked the door & pulled out his belt. He gave me a beating that reset my brain to factory setting. Look at me today. Thank you Dad!”

He said ok.
He Invited me to his room, locked the door & pulled out his belt.
He gave me a beating that reset my brain to factory setting.
Look at me today.
Thank you Dad!
The actor’s post stated it clearly, the importance of education and how determined parents work on a daily to make sure their children get a very sound education. And things wouldn’t go well between the parents and the kids if they see that their efforts are going futile.
Meanwhile, something prompted Yul to share the post and it was as a result of a video currently making rounds the internet which showed an African dad disciplining his son after he brought home a bad school result.
In the video, the kid’s dad was heard saying that he spent 21,000 dollars for his son to sit for exams but the exam result showed he was absent during Mathematics and English exams. The child’s misbehaviour got his dad annoyed as he was seen scolding him.

Is this beating ? 21k USD is a lot and the mum is saying he should not beat them ? She’s giving them confidence or indirectly saying they get away with things easily. Because the dad shouldn’t be the only one scolding them https://t.co/7bcrL7qoVS
