
Popular Nigerian Instagram based comedian, Lasisi Elenu born with real name Nosa Afolabi is a Comic Content Creator, On Air Personality (OAP), Actor and Event Compére who rose to limelight by consistently creating comics.
The comedian who apparently has a Yoruba heritage and origin shocked millions of Nigerians who follow him on Instagram by fluently speaking Igbo with almost zero errors.
Igbo is a prominent language spoken by residents of the southeastern part of Nigeria, a people who are one the 3 major ethnic groups in the country.
Taking to his official page to upload the comedy skit today April 29, 2020, the comedian mimicked typical Igbo “okrika sellers” who are mostly found in what the Igbos call “Uwa Mgbede” (which means “nightlife” but loosely translated as “evening markets”).
In the comedy skit, Lasisi painted a market scenario and tries to tell a hilarious story of how a typical Igbo man sells “Okrika” clothes in the market.
“Polo polo polo! Na mumu dey go boutique, na mumu dey go boutitique”, Lasisi could be heard screaming in the video.
However, when the hilarious video surfaced on Instagram, most of his followers wondered how come he could speak Igbo so fluently despite being a Yoruba man.
These inquisitive fans took to his comment section to make their confusion and concerns known and the video has since generated over 10,000 comments.
“Forget about the comedy, stop deceiving the ancestors Lasisi where are you from?” a puzzled fan queried.
