Popular Nigerian music producer, Samklef, has revealed why he abandoned his music production career for business.
For those who are conversant with the Nigerian music industry, it is no news that the production, mixing and mastering boss has churned out massive and impressive hits during his era in the industry.
Samklef was behind most hits that made Wizkid who he is today. Notable among them all is “Molowo Noni” which had multi award winning artist, Wizkid and the then Chocolate City rap god, Ice Prince Zamani on it.
In as much as artists put in work from writing to voicing, it is however regrettable that artists take the entire glory at the expense of their music producers.
Samklef also noted that the Nigeria Music Industry is fake as producers are not adequately compensated. He also revealed that he left the industry to go look for money.
Writing further, he revealed it was a nightmare for him following artists around, sleeping in their homes and concluded that “fame without money is depressing”.
In a tweet he shared on his official Instagram page, he wrote:
“I took a break from the fake ass industry to go find money 💰. Fame without money Na depression.. I no fit they follow artist dey waka and they sleep for their house.”
