In Malawi, a certain ‘Man of God’, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has come under fire and severe backlash after an alleged sin-cleansing soap advert sponsored on Facebook was seen carrying his picture and name.
The so called sin-cleansing soap labeled “Lion of Judah“, also called “Bushiri Soap“, carries an advert sales message that reads:
Free to sin the whole day and cleanse yourself in the evening with this Bushiri Soap
Reports have claimed the alleged spiritual sin-cleansing soap sells for $50, a whopping amount equivalent to over N18,000 in Nigerian currency and its advert and promotion have since spread like wildfire all over the internet, especially Facebook as users and promoters feel they’ve found a spiritual soap that gives them license to sin.
However, netizens have mercilessly slammed the so called prophet, stressing and emphasizing that the alleged sin-cleansing soap is just one of his criminal strategies to shamelessly milk unsuspecting loyalists and members of his church off their hard earned money.
Usually clad in suit and tie, the so called ‘prophet’, Bushiri, who is known for performing miracles by healing the sick, took to the page of his church, Enlightened Christian Gathering Ministries, Malawi, to disassociate himself from the said soap, a strategy which many internet users seem not to buy, insisting he made such utterances because he came under heavy criticisms.
