Nigerian afropop music star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy loses to Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo on GRAMMYs 2020 Best World Music Album category.
On receiving the award, Angélique Kidjo dedicated the plaque to the African Giant for his immense contribution to African music.
“Burna Boy is among young African artist changing the way our Continent is perceived”, says Angélique Kidjo on stage.

Born Angélique Kpasseloko Hinto Hounsinou Kandjo Manta Zogbin Kidjo, and professionally known as Angélique Kidjo, is a Beninese singer, songwriter, actress, and activist who is noted for her diverse musical influences and creative ways of making music videos.
Others nominated in the category alongside Burna Boy’s “African Giant” are Altin Gun, “Gece“, Bokante & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, “What Heat“, Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet, “Fanm D’Ayiti“, and Angelique Kidjo, “Celia“.
