The 21-year-old model, Nyekachi Douglas who represented Rivers State and hails from Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State beat 36 other contestants to emerge winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2019 on Friday, October 11, 2019.
However, Nyekachi Douglas will represent Nigeria at Miss World which will be held in Excel Arena, London on December 14, 2019.
Miss Taraba, Olutosin Araromi who came as 1st runner up will represent Nigeria at Miss Universe. Miss Abuja, Pamela Ifejoku the 2nd runner up will represent Nigeria at Miss Tourism while Miss Edo, Akeelah Aminu 3rd runner will stand for Nigeria at Miss ECOWAS.
The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria was held this year 2019 at Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Bayelsa State and hosted by Nigerian comedian Abovi Ugboma popularly known as Bovi and TV personality, Layole Oyatogun.
Meanwhile, the beauty pageant is abbreviated, MBGN and was formerly called Miss Universe Nigeria from its inception in 1983 before it was changed in 1986. It’s currently organised by Silverbird Group.
