The Nigerian afropop music star, Burna Boy will headline the Africans Unite concert in Mzansi, South Africa despite his tweet in September where he stated he would never set foot back in South Africa.
The concert which will take place in Cape Town at The Lawns on the 23rd of November and Tshwane’s Sun Arena on November 24 was announced this week and will include performances from Kwesta, Jidenna, Busiswa and many more.
Recall when reports of alleged xenophobic attacks in South Africa broke out, Burna Boy took to social media to express his anger.
In a series of tweets the star said that Africans needed to stick together but also said that he would not set foot in South Africa.
Burna Boy (@burnaboy) Tweeted:
“I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.”
Meanwhile, South African rapper, AKA took to his social media today, October 23, 2019 to say that he would attend the Africans Unite concert and watch Burna Boy put his hands on him in his own country.
AKA (@akaworldwide) Tweeted:
“I would love to attend this show and watch this man put his hands on me in my own country.”
