President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against comedian Trevor Noah following a joke made during the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Noah suggested Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Jeffrey Epstein’s island, prompting a furious denial and lawsuit threat from Trump on Truth Social.

Donald Trump is furious. The former President has launched a scathing attack on Trevor Noah after the comedian’s opening monologue at the Grammy Awards.
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Noah hosted the ceremony and took a sharp jab at Trump. He joked that Trump wanted to buy Greenland because Jeffrey Epstein’s private island was no longer available.
Noah told the audience that the award was something every artist wanted. He compared this desire to Trump’s wish for Greenland.
”Which makes sense, I mean, because Epstein’s island is gone,” Noah said. “He needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
The crowd roared with laughter, but Trump did not find it funny. On Monday, February 2, 2026, he took to Truth Social to vent his anger.
Trump called the Grammys “virtually unwatchable” and described Noah as a “talentless total loser.” He firmly denied ever visiting Epstein’s island.
”Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island,” Trump wrote. “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close.”
The controversy adds to a turbulent night for the awards show. While Trump focused on Noah, Lil Wayne breaks silence to express his disappointment over being left out of the event entirely.
Legal threats and insults
Trump did not stop at denials. He threatened to send his lawyers after the comedian.
”It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty,” Trump stated.
He also mocked the show’s ratings and network. Trump claimed CBS was lucky to lose the “garbage” broadcast. This follows the news that the Recording Academy will move the show to Disney, ABC, and Hulu next year.
Noah acknowledged this shift during his set. “Oh, I told you it’s my last year. What are you gonna do about it?” he asked the crowd.
The night saw other heated reactions beyond politics. In a separate incident, media personality Osi Suave slams Grammys regarding the results in the African music categories.
Trump closed his rant with a warning. “Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!” he wrote.
