Lizzy Jay revealed on With Chude that she refused to pay a blackmailer who obtained a vulnerable video of her. She dared the hacker to post the clip, which he eventually deleted after realizing she would not succumb to threats.

Nigerian content creator Lizzy Jay has revealed the bold way she handled a blackmailer who threatened to leak her private videos. The actress stated that she refused to part with any money despite the high stakes.
On January 31, 2026, the comedian appeared on the With Chude podcast to discuss her career and personal challenges. She explained that a hacker gained access to her Snapchat account and found a video she recorded while suffering a severe reaction to medication.
The Blackmail Standoff
Lizzy Jay explained that the video in question was not a “nude” recorded for a man but a documentation of her swollen face and body during a health crisis. The hacker contacted her via email and threatened to release the footage if she did not pay.
The actress immediately called the blackmailer’s bluff and told him to go ahead with his threat. This fearless approach mirrors other deep revelations on the platform, such as when Nigerian Professor Uju Anya tells Chude Jideonwo about her personal struggles.
Lizzy Jay recounted that she called the blackmailer a “bastard” and demanded he tag her when he posted the clip. The hacker eventually posted the video on Instagram, but he deleted it shortly after when he realized she was not afraid.
Moving Beyond Comedy
The interview also touched on her transition from online skits to serious filmmaking and acting roles. Lizzy Jay expressed her desire to be known as a versatile performer rather than just a funny character on Instagram.
She noted that while she started in the same digital space that connects creators like Layi Wasabi to Carter Efe, she is now focused on producing her own movies. She emphasized that she does not feel pressured by the pace of her colleagues in the industry.
The actress also shared her painful journey with university admission, revealing that she wrote JAMB multiple times before finally studying Microbiology. She admitted that she originally wanted to study Medicine but faced repeated administrative hurdles at Obafemi Awolowo University.
