A man identified as @AyoDSpeaker took to his micro-blogging platform, Twitter to share his experience with Mbaise people.
Mbaise is a town and community in Imo State, South Eastern part of Nigeria. And they’re known to charge and give outrageous amount of requirements to men who want to marry their girls.
In a video by Ayo, he was very angered to the fact that the previous week he went for marriage rite with friend at Mbaise, they were duped.
According to him, the requirements were annoyingly uncalled for. “It was too much”
“They’ll bring a long list of payment to make telling you this is not the girl to marry, you should pay ₦50k for the real girl”, he said.
Even more, he commended Nnewi people who has a lot of rich families in their midst but demand little or no requirement from men for their daughters. (Nnewi is a different community in Anambra State, South Eastern part of Nigeria.)
Meanwhile, AyoDSpeaker has also advised Mbaise people to put an end to the irritating culture or have their girls remain in their parents home unmarried.
