Family outlines legal steps and estate plan
The family said Dr Wahab Shittu, SAN, will keep representing them before investigators. They also named three administrators to manage Mohbad’s assets pending the DNA outcome.
The family said one administrator slot will remain open for Wunmi if DNA confirms paternity. They required the test before any change to estate control or surname use.
The family issued a clear order that Wunmi must stop using Aloba for now. They said no customary or statutory marriage was registered between Mohbad and Wunmi.
Widow’s lawyer pushes back
Wunmi’s lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, called the family directive illegal and sentimental. He said nobody can lawfully stop his client from using a name given to her by her husband.
He told reporters his client is ready for DNA testing at any valid time. He also said the child is not a b@stard and his client has nothing to fear.
The legal exchange follows court action and public pressure over Liam’s paternity and Mohbad’s death. The Lagos police earlier opened a team to probe the circumstances of the singer’s death.
