Tension has risen online after Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro alleged that he was assaulted during a disagreement with actress Peggy Ovire on a film location. The incident reportedly happened late at night, with both sides sharing different accounts of what took place.

According to Arimoro, the misunderstanding started when he tried to leave the set after his contract hours expired. He said his contract ended at 11 p.m., but he was still on set past midnight.
In a live video posted on his social media page, Arimoro claimed Peggy Ovire told her driver to block his car to stop him from leaving. He also alleged that his car tyres were deflated during the heated confrontation. Earlier this month, another Nollywood actor spoke about poor treatment on set.
The actor appeared with visible gum and lip injuries in the video, saying he was hit while trying to leave. He maintained that he had stayed beyond the agreed time and had to prepare for another shoot the next morning.
Peggy Ovire responds to assault claim
Peggy Ovire, however, shared her own side of the story, accusing the actor of assaulting her driver. She claimed the man suffered ear injuries during the altercation and insisted that Arimoro was the aggressor.
Fans online have been debating both accounts, with many calling for calm and proper investigation. Some urged Nollywood producers to enforce better working rules on set to avoid similar disputes. Earlier, actress Ruth Kadiri also addressed professionalism issues in Nollywood.
As of now, neither party has issued an official statement beyond their live videos. The incident has drawn wide attention from both fans and colleagues in the industry.
