Nigerian activist Rinu Oduala has capped a decade-long study run with three degrees. She says the milestone ends years of ridicule over her unfinished Lagos State University course.

Oduala shared the news on X on 1 November. She said it was more than a birthday, because it closed a hard season. See Regina Daniels marriage claims for another 2025 personal story.
She recalled how the #EndSARS protests forced her out of school and even out of Nigeria. She said she faced mockery, online attacks and loss of family during that period. She added that many people did not know she was still studying abroad.
According to her post, friends, mentors and even strangers helped with school fees and living costs. She said people in Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, London, Washington DC and Kampala checked on her and kept her focused. She called their support “love that is not in vain.”
Oduala listed her qualifications as an ND in Science Laboratory Technology, a BSc in Chemistry Education by coursework, and a BSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics with First Class honours from United States International University, Africa. She said it took ten years from her first step into tertiary education to this point. She stressed that every stage felt like a test.
She also said she is now writing a book on loss, love, grief and identity, and on how to live again after crisis. She urged supporters to “celebrate Rinu, send money, but also send love,” noting that love kept her going. For more 2025 star updates, read the Burna Boy first crush story.
Oduala said the journey has taught her to live without constant fear. She added that healing is slow, like learning to breathe again, but that she is doing it. She thanked her late grandmother for believing in the value of education
