British boxer Ryan Taylor has alleged that his ex-fiancée, Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress DJ Cuppy (Florence Otedola), disliked associating with people from her country during their relationship. He made the claim while speaking on the Ladders Podcast, where he discussed their brief but public romance.

Taylor said Cuppy often complained about Nigerians and did not want him to employ them in his business. He revealed, “Is it mad if I told you that she didn’t like people from her country? She’ll come into my business and didn’t want me to have them as staff.”
He added that Cuppy sometimes felt uncomfortable when Nigerians recognised her in public, recalling occasions when people approached them in malls to ask for money. Their engagement in November 2022 was widely celebrated, but by mid-2023, both had unfollowed each other on social media, fuelling breakup rumours.
DJ Cuppy opens up about personal growth after split reportedly came months after their separation, where she spoke about rediscovering herself. Taylor, however, said their relationship taught him lessons. “Everything happens for a reason,” he said. “No regrets, lesson learnt.”
The pair’s relationship was once a constant topic online due to their lavish lifestyle and affectionate public appearances. Their breakup left many fans surprised, given how quickly their engagement had followed their courtship.
For context, Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has often been vocal about balancing fame, family, and self-identity. Her high-profile relationships have also kept her under frequent public scrutiny.
