In his words, the line about “parading himself” never came from him. He says, “That was a complete misrepresentation.” Udokwu adds he will not say such a thing. He says, “It is very wrong for me to do.”

Podcast claim gets quick pushback

Udokwu notes blogs pulled one claim from a long chat. He says they cut key parts and fed a false gist. “The line that Pete is parading himself never came from me,” he says. “That was a wrong read of my words,” he adds.

He says his point was plain in that talk. “If you talk of Nollywood as an industry, I began first,” he explains. He adds that Pete had “Things Fall Apart” before Nollywood’s birth. He says that work was not part of Nollywood’s start.

He explains Nollywood start and old screen work

Udokwu draws a neat line for fans to see. He says Nollywood refers to the modern home video wave. His own early work sits in that time frame. Pete’s famed role came before that wave took off.

He also cites peers who made this same note. “Even Kanayo O. Kanayo once made a similar point,” he says. The talk, he adds, is on years and labels, not worth. It was never a drag on Pete’s name.

Fans recall a recent Yul Edochie breakup rumour that stirred loud talk. The Edochie name often trends for many reasons today.

He shows deep respect for Pete Edochie

Udokwu says his bond with Pete rests on deep regard. “Pete Edochie is far older than me,” he says. “In our culture, we never disrespect our elders,” he adds. “I admire and respect him greatly,” he concludes.

He stresses he will never taint Pete’s big screen mark. He calls him an icon who taught a whole age. The star then points to his own early roles with pride. He lists “Checkmate” and “When the Sun Sets” as key jobs.

At the time, he acted with focus on craft and growth. He still does same work as Soludo’s aide in Anambra. His title is Special Adviser on Entertainment, Leisure and Tourism. He says the role helps him serve the arts with care.

This week also saw legal heat around that famous surname. Read the full note on May Yul-Edochie sues Yinka Theisen. The suit drew wide takes across the web.

Udokwu ends by warning fans not to spread false lines. He asks blogs to quote him right in each post. He says fair talk helps the film world grow fast. He pledges to keep calm and clear in future chats.
