Ademola Lookman says he wants to leave Atalanta. The Nigerian star has sent in a transfer request after what he called “months of broken promises.”
He shared a long post online on Sunday. In it, he thanked the fans, his teammates and the city of Bergamo.
Atalanta became home to me
Lookman said the last three years were special. “I gave all I had here, not just as a player but as a man,” he wrote.
He called winning the Europa League one of his best moments. “That night in Dublin still gives me chills,” he added.
Club blocks his transfer move
The forward said the club had agreed to let him go if a fair offer came. But now, he says the club has blocked the move.
“This is hard,” he said. “I stayed loyal, but now it’s time for a new path.”
Lookman sends message to fans
The Super Eagles star spoke to the supporters. “You gave me love. Our bond is so strong,” he said.
He also asked for peace. “I am sorry it came to this. I must stand for what is fair and right,” Lookman added.
He ended by saying he hopes to find a solution with the club soon.
