Actress explains reason for her break
Nkechi spoke on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie. She said the cash gift made her pause film roles.
“Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles — that’s why I took a break from acting. I can’t shoot a movie and I might not even make up to ₦1 million profit from it,” Nkechi said.
She told the host that she could not earn that much from most films. So the steady pay gave her room to step back.
Actress keeps donor’s name secret
Bae U Barbie asked if the giver is still unknown. Nkechi refused to say more and joked at the host.
“It’s not your business,” she said with a laugh.
