Banky W honours Ebuka with moving tribute
Nigerian singer and politician Banky W has celebrated media star Ebuka Obi-Uchendu with a powerful message.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Banky W praised Ebuka’s rise from an unknown BBNaija housemate to one of Africa’s biggest TV hosts.

He pointed out that Ebuka didn’t win Big Brother Naija. In fact, he finished in eighth place. Yet, that didn’t stop him from becoming a household name.
Ebuka didn’t win BBNaija, but he “won in life”
Banky W told fans to look beyond the glitz and fame.
“When you think of Ebuka, don’t just think fashion, fame, or fortune. Think resilience,” he wrote.
He added, “He didn’t win the show, but he won in life.”
Banky W reminded followers that Ebuka built his career step by step. From BBNaija, he moved to host talk shows like Rubbing Minds, wrote for newspapers, got a master’s degree, and never gave up—even when the future looked uncertain.
“Success takes grace and grind,” says Banky W
In a deep reflection, Banky W used a Bible story to explain Ebuka’s journey.
He compared it to Jesus turning water into wine, where the jars had to be filled first.
“Behind every miracle is work, patience, and preparation,” he said.
Banky W ended his tribute by saying, “Success takes grace and grind. The grace is from God. The grind is from you.”
He urged everyone to keep pushing, stay consistent, and trust their process.
