Angela Okorie reflects and makes peace
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has come forward with a heartfelt apology to fellow actress Mercy Johnson and businessman-politician Ned Nwoko, following recent online drama that stemmed from her comments on Mercy’s weight loss journey.

Angela, in a lengthy social media post, said she’s been doing a lot of soul-searching and has realised that her actions caused more harm than she intended. She described the past days as deeply reflective and emotional.
“Hi beautiful people,” she began, “these past days have been a period of intense reflection for me. I can only thank God that I am alive.”
“Mercy, I’m sorry”
Angela admitted she said hurtful things while she was emotional and feeling wounded. She explained that although she speaks from the heart, her words may have come from a place of pain and frustration.
“I feel so sorry having realised how this gets to you, Mercy. Your mental health is very important now and ever,” she wrote. “I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse — that’s not my nature, and you know it. Do find a place in your heart to forgive me.”
Angela noted that she now understands the damage those words might have caused and regrets not handling things better.
How Ned Nwoko got involved
The issue escalated after actress Regina Daniels, who calls Mercy her “Nollywood mummy”, got involved to defend her. Angela then responded by dragging Regina’s husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, into the fight.
Addressing this, Angela also offered a direct apology to Ned. She admitted she was wrong for lashing out at him in the heat of the moment.
“My anger in trying to make a reply didn’t find you in a good state,” she wrote. “It was a reaction to an unprovoked bashing and attack that was blown out of proportion. I reacted in a way I now recognise wasn’t pleasant.”
Angela reminded everyone that she had once supported Ned’s political campaign and even performed at his family’s annual children’s carnival. She insisted she had no intention to ever disrespect him.
“Being at peace is better than war”
Angela ended her post by forgiving everyone who spread lies or attacked her during the saga. She acknowledged that bloggers and content creators worsened things by sharing false stories.
“The betrayal has been overwhelming,” she said, “but I forgive everyone who has hurt me and leave them to face their own conscience.”
She concluded by saying that seeking peace matters more than holding grudges. “All these have made me realise that being at peace is better than war or fight. I deeply regret my actions and am sorry,” she said.
