“I’m very sorry for causing pain to my family, fans, and everyone who supports me.”

He also said he regrets making his wife and children feel hurt. Nishikori promised to now focus only on tennis and to work hard to rebuild trust with his loved ones.

So far, he hasn’t made any comment on his social media pages.

The Alleged Affair with Model Azuki Oguchi

Reports claim Nishikori visited Azuki Oguchi’s apartment in Japan last week. The two reportedly first met in 2022 while in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since then, rumours have followed them.

Back in late 2022, Nishikori had finally shared pictures of his wedding celebration with Mai. Due to Covid-19, they couldn’t hold a proper event earlier. He called the ceremony a “new start” in a sweet Instagram post.

Nishikori Wants to Get Back on Court

Despite the personal drama, Nishikori remains a strong name in tennis. He’s currently ranked No. 66 in the world. But he had to pull out of the French Open and Wimbledon this year because of an injury.

Still, he reached a big milestone in April. He became the first Asian player to get 450 career wins. At the time, he said:

“I had no idea. I just take one match at a time. Hopefully, I can reach 500.”

For now, Nishikori says he’ll keep his head down, focus on the sport he loves, and work hard to be a better husband and father.
