A shocking financial revelation surfaced following the recent eviction of Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Martins Iyeh. The creative director publicly confessed to battling severe debt crises that strained his family ties.
During a candid interview on Hero’s Therapy published on August 21, 2026, the reality star shared his deep struggles. The model from Kogi admitted he plunged his former boss’s lounge into a massive deficit before taking on more debt. Viewers across Nigeria remain stunned by the sheer scale of the money problems he faced.
Plunging A Business And Facing Loan Apps
Martins broke down his financial collapse, tracking his problems back to 2021. He explained how his attempt to manage a local lounge ended in complete disaster.
”I was owing every loan app you could think of I dropped out of school like I wasn’t it was tough to come back from 2022 was very very tough I was managing a lounge I couldn’t do anything,” the reality star revealed.
The former housemate admitted he lacked the right business skills during that difficult period. This lack of direction ended up costing his boss millions of naira. He confirmed he ruined the business finances himself.
”I plunged that business into 3 million depth I didn’t know what I was doing I didn’t know I was owing every loan app you could think of the very next year that’s this was 2021 2022 one of the loan apps that’s my my dad didn’t call me for a year,” he added.
The harsh methods of the digital loan companies quickly spilled over to his immediate family. His father cut off all contact with him for an entire year due to the constant pressure.
”My dad didn’t call me for a year say he’s a man’s man he’s somebody I call him my oracle my dad doesn’t shake you know so the next call he will call me every call gives me PTSD especially for my dad,” Martins explained.
The model described his father as a strong figure who rarely showed signs of distress. However, the continuous calls from debt collectors caused severe mental stress for the young creative. The breaking point arrived when his father called him home to reveal a disturbing message.
”He called me again and said on his birthday that was the next year said I should come to the house again only for me to go home he will show me his put wanted on his I’m stressing him to put what wanted there’s a way this loan app now do if you now put wanted,” the model recalled.
Police Station Drama And Total Debt
The money problems kept growing as he borrowed from personal friends to survive. He soon disclosed the exact figure that kept him awake at night.
”My boss’s business was 3 million in depth the lounge cuz it was a lot but your personal debts my personal debts were about 7 million about 7 million it was a long I didn’t breathe fresh air,” the creative director disclosed.
A separate dispute involving a female friend eventually turned into a police case in 2023. The unnamed lady dragged the reality star to a local police station to recover her money. He acknowledged that he failed to honour multiple promises to repay the funds.
”Of a lady one of the ladies I was took me to police station 2023 she’s my friend though I don’t blame her I mean it’s money it’s very sensitive and I kept on making promises I will pay I’ll pay I’ll pay,” he stated.
The police intervention forced him to write an agreement to pay back the money. The specific debt owed to the lady amounted to nearly a million naira.
”And my papy always tell you that good name is better than silver and gold so I tried my best to protect that reputation I did what I could but she called me police I had to write an undertaking promise this promise because I was owing her about another 700,000 on its own,” Martins noted.
Looking back at the chaotic timeline, the reality star showed deep regret over his past decisions. He often questioned his own sanity while trying to handle the heavy demands of his creditors. He now hopes his newfound platform will help him fix his public image.
”I I’m good at convincing people to invest in businesses so my boss left the lounge it was like he wasn’t I was literally paying him for using his space and all of that I would sit down some days and ask myself ‘What are you doing what are you doing’,” the former housemate questioned.
