The popular content creator shares details of his bitter ordeal with a Lagos property developer
Brain Jotter has publicly accused Lagos property firm Property Matchmakers of withholding his multi-million Naira investment since 2021. The comedian revealed the company blamed the Lagos coastal road project for delays and later demanded a 15 percent penalty to refund his original capital.

On August 23, 2026, Nigerian comedian Brain Jotter exposed a massive real estate scam. He named a Lagos property company as the source of his missing funds.
The content creator invested a large part of his wealth in 2021. He trusted the brand with over 60 million Naira for a housing deal. The company promised him a 30 percent profit within 12 months.
”I didn’t even involve a lawyer because I trusted them with my life,” Brain Jotter stated.
The Coastal Road Excuse
The real estate firm initially allocated land at Beachwood Estate as collateral. Brain Jotter forgot about the deal until he decided to develop the plot in 2024.
The company officials quickly brought up excuses to delay the building process. They blamed the controversial Lagos coastal highway project for the sudden setback. They also claimed the government road network affected the property allocation.
”They now said the coastal road affected this one,” the comedian noted.
The 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project has led to mass demolitions in Lagos. Many fraudulent property developers now use this government project to justify their missing lands.
A Shocking Penalty
Property Matchmakers later offered him an alternative plot in Lekki Phase One. The comedian rejected this offer and demanded an immediate cash refund. He cited his extreme frustration over the stressful four-year wait.
The company agreed to return his money but attached a strange condition. They demanded a 15 percent penalty deduction from his initial capital.
”They said they were going to take a 15% penalty,” he explained.
This unfair deduction deeply angered the online star. The value of the Naira has dropped sharply since his 2021 investment. He lamented that his original funds can no longer buy the same assets today.
Brain Jotter recently launched a new platform named Only Originals to fight these market frauds. The verification service aims to protect Nigerians from similar fake brands.
