Story Highlights
On January 3, 2026, social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released a phone recording allegedly featuring Mr. Tony, the donor at the center of a financial dispute with activist Harrison Gwamnishu. In the call, the donor denied personally handling the N4.4 million refund and accused Harrison of using his name to deflect blame. VDM also presented payment receipts suggesting the funds went to an account Harrison controlled, rather than directly to the donor as previously claimed.

The public dispute between VeryDarkMan (VDM) and human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu escalated significantly on Saturday. VDM returned to social media with fresh evidence to counter Harrison’s recent defense regarding a N4.4 million transaction.
Martins Vincent Otse shared a video on his Instagram page that aimed to dismantle the explanation Harrison gave earlier. The self-acclaimed “Ratel King” warned that this release was merely the start of a phase he calls “Unmasking 2.0.”
The disputed phone call details
VDM played a recording of a conversation involving Mr. Tony, the key figure in the donation controversy. Harrison had previously stated that he returned the disputed funds directly to the donor. However, the voice alleged to be Mr. Tony painted a different picture during the call.
Mr. Tony denied receiving or managing the money personally. The donor insisted that Harrison provided the specific account details for the transfer himself. During the exchange, Mr. Tony accused the activist of dragging his name into the scandal purely for “damage control” rather than transparency.
This release follows a week of intense accusations where VeryDarkMan claims Harrison Gwamnishu edited videos to hide the true nature of their interactions. Otse argues that the activist is trying to shift the narrative to look like a victim.
Evidence of payment routing
Beyond the phone call, VDM displayed screenshots and transfer receipts to support his case. These documents reportedly show that the N4.4 million refund did not go to Mr. Tony’s personal account. Instead, the receipts indicate the money moved into an account Harrison provided.
Otse used this evidence to argue that Harrison never truly disengaged from the funds as he claimed. The critic alleged that the activist moved the money under the pretense of legal action but later abandoned the case entirely. This left the alleged victim to solve the problem without professional help.
The situation remains tense as observers wait to see how the activist responds. Harrison recently explained his refusal to refund other donations connected to medical rescues, citing the costs incurred during his operations.
VDM ended his broadcast with a promise to release more damaging information if the activist continues to deny the allegations.
