Cubana Chief Priest has criticised Nigerians for mocking content creator Peller after American streamer iShowSpeed ignored him in Lagos on January 22, 2026. The socialite described the rejection as a management issue and praised Peller for his relentless energy, insisting that shamelessness is a necessary tool for growth in the content industry.

Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest has strongly defended content creator Peller following a wave of online ridicule. The backlash began after Peller was filmed trying to meet American streamer iShowSpeed on the streets of Lagos, an encounter that ended with the US star appearing to ignore him.
Critics on social media quickly labelled the attempt as “begging,” claiming Peller lacked self-respect. However, Cubana Chief Priest took to Instagram on January 22, 2026, to shut down the mockery. He argued that tearing down a young “hustler” for trying to grow his brand is unfair and counterproductive.
No shame in the hustle
The celebrity barman emphasised that success in the streaming world requires a level of grit that many critics fail to understand. He noted that Peller is currently trending ahead of the visitor, proving that his aggressive approach yields results.
”Streaming is a game of shamelessness,” Chief Priest wrote. He urged Nigerians to stop tearing down their own, pointing out that Peller’s willingness to push past rejection is exactly why he is more successful than his detractors. According to him, the energy Peller puts into his craft should be celebrated, not ridiculed.
This perspective aligns with other industry voices. Recently, OGB Recent blames management as iShowSpeed ignores Peller in Lagos, suggesting that the barriers between the creators were bureaucratic rather than personal.
A deliberate management strategy
Cubana Chief Priest further dismissed the idea that iShowSpeed genuinely dislikes the Nigerian creator. He claimed the “ignore” was a deliberate move controlled by Speed’s management team rather than the streamer himself.
The socialite insisted that Peller’s push is amazing and advised him to never shy away from rejection. He believes the rejection is part of the process, noting that Speed himself faces rejection during his streams. This defence comes at a time when fans are digging up past content, with some netizens dig up old video of Peller vowing to ignore iShowSpeed if he comes to Nigeria, adding a layer of irony to the current situation.
The message from the nightlife king was clear: ignore the noise and keep pushing for the top. He concluded by reminding Peller that his hunger for success is what separates him from the crowd.
