Story Highlights
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Pastor Chris Okafor, the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala during a live service. While the cleric denied specific allegations regarding a broken marriage promise, he admitted to making past mistakes and offered restitution to anyone he had offended. This marks a major turn in the ongoing dispute.

The atmosphere at the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry turned emotional on Sunday as the General Overseer, Pastor Chris Okafor, took a surprising step to address the scandals surrounding him.
In a moment that shocked the congregation, the popular cleric knelt on the altar to beg for forgiveness from Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and the public.
This public display of contrition comes after weeks of intense online accusations. On December 28, 2025, Pastor Okafor paused his sermon to address the claims directly, stating that while he is not perfect, many details circulating in the media are untrue.
The Public Apology
During the service, Pastor Okafor addressed the specific claims made by Doris Ogala. The cleric insisted that he would not “join issues” or engage in a muddy public fight, but acknowledged that he had made errors in the past.
”I tender my apology to everybody. But everything that was said is not true. Take note, everything that was said—never true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said,” Okafor told the congregation.
Notably, the pastor did not stop at a verbal apology. He physically knelt before the church members to show his seriousness, a gesture that drew loud applause and shouts from the crowd. This move appears to be an attempt to calm the storm after Doris Ogala vows to sue Pastor Chris Okafor for breaking marriage promise earlier this month.
Offer of Restitution
Pastor Okafor went further to state his readiness to fix the damages his actions might have caused. He declared that he is willing to make restitution to anyone, male or female, who feels aggrieved by his past conduct.
”I am ready to make restitution to anyone. And anybody, any lady, anywhere, or man I have offended… I am sorry. Forgive me,” the cleric stated passionately.
This statement directly counters the narrative that he has been dismissive of his accusers. It marks a significant shift in tone from previous weeks, especially following reports where Doris Ogala says pastor offered 10000 to silence her regarding the alleged pregnancy and abandonement.
A New Beginning
The cleric also hinted that his decision to apologise stems from the intervention of senior spiritual leaders. Pastor Okafor mentioned “fathers of faith” who have recently come into his life to guide him.
He admitted to his imperfections but emphasised that he has turned a new leaf. “I am not perfect. I’ve never been perfect. But I tell you, I’ve had a new beginning since the coming of these fathers of faith into my life,” he explained.
Observers believe this public apology may be a strategic move to save the image of his ministry. The dispute with Doris Ogala has dominated social media discussions for days, with the actress releasing various receipts and threats. Whether this apology will satisfy Ogala, who has been demanding justice, remains to be seen.
ValidUpdates understands that the actress has not yet officially responded to the pastor’s public show of remorse. The coming days will reveal if this apology signals the end of the drama or just another chapter in the saga.
