Nigerian comedian Mr Jollof (Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi) has stirred controversy after accusing award-winning singer Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) of failing to fulfil a 2017 financial promise.

In a resurfaced video shared by influencer @DavidoPolice, Jollof alleged that Wizkid once asked him to buy an item worth ₦8 million in Dubai but later ignored him.
In his words, “Wizkid has never done anything for me. I’ve actually helped him more than people think. You asked me to buy something worth 8M in Dubai 2017, said you’d pay, and then ignored my messages. He can never be Davido; Davido changes lives, while Wizkid just drains people.” The video has triggered widespread reactions, with many comparing Wizkid’s attitude to Davido’s philanthropic reputation.
Fans react to Jollof’s claims
Social media users quickly took sides. One commenter, @sheriffertu_sankoh, called Jollof “ungrateful,” while another, @bigbelinarus1, recalled that Jollof once hosted Wizkid at his Warri concert using a private jet. Others dismissed the video as “old drama,” questioning why Jollof brought it up again.
Some fans argued that comparing the two Afrobeats stars was unnecessary. “So you dey vex say your fellow man never buy you anything or give you money? This internet funny,” one user wrote, echoing widespread fatigue over the Davido–Wizkid rivalry.
