Key Points:
- Raye says her Lagos NYSC year ended without a certificate after a clearance dispute.
- She claims she appeared for April clearance but was refused by an official.
- The ex-corper says she is closing this chapter despite anger and hurt.
After a year of serving in Lagos under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), social media user Raye has opened up about leaving without a certificate.

In a post, she revealed that her service year ended with no proof of completion. She added that she had been told to return for a final decision she already believes will go against her.
Regret over Lagos NYSC posting
Raye admitted she regrets being posted to Lagos for NYSC. She described the experience as “a waste of time” and far from the pleasure she expected.
She explained that officials claimed she missed her April clearance date. However, she insists she was present that day and ready to complete the process.
Clearance day dispute and file seizure
“I was there to get cleared,” she said. “But the Lgl kept sending me to the back. When she finally called me, she said she won’t clear me.”
According to Raye, the official seized her file and ordered her to leave. She noted that this incident is only part of a longer story she is willing to share in detail.
She said the situation left her with deep anger but no clear person to blame. Despite this, she wished herself the best and announced she was moving on from the episode.
The NYSC scheme has faced criticism in recent years over alleged inefficiency and mistreatment of corps members. Stories like Raye’s often spark debates about reforming the programme to better protect participants from administrative disputes.
