Key Points:
- Jim Iyke says the early feminist fight made sense, but today’s movement has lost its way.
- He believes modern feminism came from a marketing ploy that turned into a false culture.
- The actor says men and women should work together, not fight each other.
Veteran Nollywood star Jim Iyke has sparked fresh buzz with his strong views on modern-day feminism. The actor called it “a crime” and “a lifestyle gone wrong” during a talk on The EchoRoom podcast.

He said feminism used to be a good thing. It spoke up for women and fought old rules that hurt them. But now, he said, the idea has changed into something harmful.
Feminism started real but lost its way – Iyke
In his words, “I consider it a crime, a kind of assault. The perpetrators of this… clearly, I would not name the magazine… launched a clever campaign to push sales.”
He added that women were the key buyers of that magazine, so the publishers used a bold idea to sell more. “They allowed women to challenge the status quo and compete with men in the same space.”
But Jim Iyke feels it all went too far.
‘We don’t need men’ is not the answer
He said the idea of “we don’t need men” grew too big. Some women, he claimed, made it their full-time way of life.
“It escalated and blew it out of proportion,” he added. “Now it has been adopted as a lifestyle and a new cultural standard.”
Jim Iyke made it clear he doesn’t hate women. But he believes the fight has now become a war. And that war, in his view, does more harm than good.
Men and women must work as a team
Jim said both sexes play key parts in life. One is not better than the other. “Men and women have distinct roles,” he stressed. “When they work together in harmony, that’s when true balance is achieved.”
But feminism, he said, now promotes double standards. “Do you not understand the falsehood of it? The two-faced approach?”
The Bad Comments actor believes real change comes when both sides work as one. That, he said, is what modern feminists need to understand.
Final thoughts
Jim Iyke, 48, has often shared bold views. And with this latest one, he continues to stir key talk about gender roles. Whether fans agree or not, his message is clear — harmony beats rivalry.
