Key Points:
- Chioma’s parents lost their 5-year US visas before the wedding.
- Officials say they stayed longer than the time declared on entry.
- The couple will wed in Miami without her parents present.
Singer Davido and Chioma are just days from their white wedding in Miami.
However, Chioma’s parents will not be there after a shock visa setback.

The pair, who once held 5-year US visas, had them cancelled. According to blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus, insiders revealed the move came after a past visit to the US went wrong.
What led to the visa cancellation
Sources said the trouble began when Chioma’s parents arrived in the US years ago. At entry, they told border officers they would stay for one month.
But after arriving, Chioma faced a post-birth health scare. She became anaemic, and her mother had to extend her stay to nurse her back to health.
Her father returned home after the planned period, but the mother stayed longer.
Authorities’ action and aftermath
US authorities saw the extended stay as breaking entry terms. They labelled it a “lie” because no update was given after the change in plans.
Since the visa was issued to them as a couple, both lost it. They have reportedly been told to reapply, but any approval would come after the August 10 wedding.
The report adds that the US has been cancelling many visas recently. Chioma’s parents were caught up in what insiders describe as a “visa cancelling spree.”
Wedding to go on without parents present
Davido and Chioma will now tie the knot in Miami without her father walking her down the aisle.
This comes as the couple already made headlines for their lavish pre-wedding events. Davido recently revealed he spent $3.7 million (₦5.9 billion) in Miami parties ahead of the big day, calling it “money na water.”
Fans are now sending support to the couple, hoping the absence of Chioma’s parents will not dull the celebrations.
