Thai Woman Caught in Huge Monk Sex Scandal
A 35-year-old Thai woman, Wilawan Emsawat, also called Sika Golf, has been arrested for filming herself having sex with Buddhist monks and then blackmailing them.
According to local reports, she used these videos and photos to collect nearly £9 million from at least 13 monks. Officials say she was also involved in money laundering and knowingly took stolen items.

Videos Found on Her Phones
Thai media shared that police found five phones in her possession. Each one had clips of Wilawan in s£x acts with monks. Shockingly, some of the monks were still wearing their orange robes while in bed with her.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) confirmed these findings and stated that more people could still be linked to the case.
So far, nine of the 13 monks caught in the scandal have been disrobed. And the number could go higher as the investigation continues.
Top Monk Vanishes Over Pregnancy Claim
The case took a wild turn when a popular senior monk named Phra Thep Wachirapamok—also known as Arch—quit his position suddenly. He then disappeared across the border into Laos.
He had been the respected abbot of Wat Tri Thotsathep Worawihan temple in Bangkok. But after quitting in June, it was revealed that he had a secret affair with Wilawan, who later told him she was pregnant.
She allegedly asked him for a huge payment of £179,000. Soon after, the truth behind his quick exit came to light.
Lawmakers Want Sex with Monks Criminalised
Following the scandal, a Senate committee is now pushing for a new law. They want s£x with monks to become a criminal offence.
However, this idea has sparked strong backlash.
Many believe that the men should be blamed too and not just the woman. Sanitsuda Ekachai, a writer for the Bangkok Post, said this case shows how the system is broken.
“The scandal exposes a system of lies and hypocrisy among top monks,” she wrote. “Women have always been shown as threats to monks’ purity. Now that the monks are clearly guilty, it’s the woman getting punished while they act like victims.”
The case continues to spark debate and anger across Thailand, with more updates expected soon.
