Nollywood Actress Faces Suspension Over On-Set Drama
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended popular actress Shirley Igwe. This comes after she was accused of hitting a crew member during filming.

Reports say Shirley slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN). The alleged slap happened while they were working on a movie set.
Because of this, the AGN took quick action. In a letter to all state chairmen, the Guild said Shirley has been placed on indefinite suspension.
AGN Reacts to Alleged Violence
The Guild explained that her actions went against the values of the industry. They called it “violence and indiscipline that can shame the acting profession.”
They also said such behaviour could spoil the image of Nollywood. The Guild wants all actors to show respect on set and follow the rules.
Members Told Not to Work With Her
In the same letter, the AGN gave a clear warning to its members. They were told to stay away from any film where Shirley is involved.
“Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her,” the Guild stated.
So far, Shirley has not spoken publicly about the issue. The AGN has said it will look into the matter and give updates later.
