Reekado Opens Up About Past Clash With Wizkid
Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has finally spoken about his 2020 clash with fellow artist Wizkid. The incident happened during the EndSARS protests, when Reekado announced the release of a new song, Omo Olomo, which featured Wizkid.
At the time, Wizkid had strongly condemned the move, calling Reekado a “fool” and “clout animal.” His reaction shocked fans, as many believed the insult was too harsh.

Now, almost four years later, Reekado has cleared the air in a recent chat on The Esther Show. He revealed that it wasn’t his idea to release the song at that sensitive time. According to him, it was his management team that insisted on going ahead with it.
“Wizkid Regretted It,” Reekado Tells Esther
Reekado said he and Wizkid have since settled their differences. In fact, the Ojuelegba crooner recently visited Reekado’s restaurant to reconnect and talk things out.
“Recently, he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant,” Reekado shared. “We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route.”
He added that Wizkid admitted his behaviour was not right. “He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well,” Reekado said.
They’re On Good Terms Now
Reekado went on to explain how they both bonded over a shared loss. “We are three people in the game who recently lost our mums,” he said. “And he feels sorry about that time, so, we are good now.”
This latest update confirms there is no more bad blood between the two music stars. Fans can now hope for a smoother relationship — and maybe even more collaborations in the future.
