Burna Boy Opens Up About Wanting Children
Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy has shared that he’s now seriously thinking about starting a family.
During his 34th birthday celebration in Lagos on Wednesday night, the Grammy winner spoke openly about the change in his thinking. He admitted that age and a recent heart-to-heart with a close friend made him rethink his decision.

He said in pidgin English, “Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think about my life. Omo, I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikins.”
This means he’s now feeling the weight of age and believes it might be the right time to have kids.
A Change of Heart from Last Year
This news comes as a surprise to fans who remember Burna Boy’s earlier stance on fatherhood.
Back in May 2023, the “Tatata” singer had firmly stated that he was not ready to be a father. He said he didn’t want to have children until he could give them proper time, love, and care.
At the time, he explained that he wouldn’t rush into fatherhood. He wanted to be settled, possibly married, before bringing children into his life. “I don’t want to have kids I can’t be there for,” he had said then.
Jowizaza’s Advice Might Have Sparked It All
It seems the turning point came after Burna Boy’s conversation with oil magnate Jowizaza. Although the singer didn’t share full details, he clearly took the talk seriously.
The chat made him pause and reflect deeply about his future, he revealed. “I’ve been thinking about my life,” Burna Boy admitted, adding that he now feels it’s time to take the next step.
Fans React to the News
Fans online are already buzzing about Burna Boy’s unexpected confession. Many believe he would make a great dad. Others are simply excited to see this new, more reflective side of him.
