2Face Opens Up About Split From Annie
Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia has finally spoken about his decision to end his marriage with actress Annie Idibia after many years together.
In a recent chat on the 234 Mzansi Podcast with host Nedu, the singer shared that they both did everything possible to save the relationship but it simply didn’t work anymore.
He chose not to reveal the exact reason for the breakup but made it clear that Annie remains “an amazing woman.” He stressed that people should never feel forced to stay in a marriage that no longer brings happiness.

“I think both of us gave it our best,” he said. “Why we’re not together today is not something I’m going to talk about publicly. Me and her have our own understanding. She’s amazing, it just wasn’t working no more.”
“Don’t Force It,” Says 2Face
2Face shared that people need to stop letting society or others control how they feel in their relationships.
“You should try to fix your marriage but if it’s beyond that, I don’t think anybody should force anything,” he said. “Only people in the marriage know exactly what they’re feeling.”
He added that many people end up sad or trapped because they try too hard to keep a broken union just to please others.
“It’s always good not to torture yourself,” he advised. “Living in bondage is real and many people have gone to their grave very sad people.”
Reactions Trail His Comments
As expected, the comments stirred up drama online. While some fans praised his mature tone, others blamed him for hurting Annie.
One user, @divine_neny, said, “He can’t even say what she did. Annie loved him too much.”
@t_e_s_s_y123 added, “Annie’s only crime was loving someone else more than herself.”
Another, @rejioce.johnson.12, wrote, “Even if Annie’s at fault, we’re just glad she left. She deserves better.”
However, @agentvic_ defended 2Face: “He spoke well and didn’t bring negativity. It didn’t work out, and that’s it. People need to learn to let others live their truth.”
2Face Has Moved On
Earlier this year, 2Face made headlines after announcing his divorce and starting a fresh relationship with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
He also caused a stir with a controversial comment saying no man can stay with just one woman, which raised more eyebrows.
Still, his recent calm take on the marriage breakdown shows he’s choosing peace over drama.
