Billionaire Couple Plans Wedding With a Purpose
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are not only celebrating love in Venice but also giving back.
The couple, who are getting married this week, quietly made donations to local charities in Venice. A source revealed they did this in April while planning their big day.
They also chose to include their guests in the kind gesture. Instead of giving wedding presents, guests were told in May that donations would be made in their names. This thoughtful gift is to help keep Venice beautiful and inspiring for future generations.

Three-Day Wedding With Famous Guests
The wedding will last for three days and will welcome around 200 VIP guests. These include big names like Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Bill Gates, Barbra Streisand, and Ivanka Trump.
There are reports that events could happen on Bezos’ luxury yacht, Koru, as well as locations like San Giorgio Island and Scuola Grande della Misericordia.
To support local businesses, the couple is using about 80% of Venetian services for their wedding. They are working with famous local names like Rosa Salva, the city’s oldest pastry shop, and Laguna B, a Murano glass studio. Guests will also receive a special gift — a colourful glass cup known as goti de fornasa from Laguna B.
Venice Reacts to the Wedding
People in Venice are reacting in different ways to the big wedding.

Some are planning protests. A group called “No Space for Bezos” wants to block streets and canals. They believe Venice is being treated like a place to “consume,” not to respect.
Still, the city’s mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, supports the event. He believes the wedding will help local businesses and bring in millions of dollars.
