Illbliss Speaks Up on Celebrities’ Silence
Popular Nigerian rapper Illbliss, also known as Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, has shared his disappointment with some music stars in the country. He believes many of them are ignoring the struggles Nigerians face every day.
Speaking during a chat on The Real Shareholders podcast, Illbliss did not hold back. He said some entertainers have completely turned their backs on the pain and hardship around them.
He noted that insecurity and suffering are growing in Nigeria, yet many artists remain quiet. According to him, their silence is not by accident but by choice.
“Some Artists Don’t Care About the People”
Illbliss believes these stars are silent because they want to protect their own benefits. He said some celebrities have ties to people in government and don’t want to spoil those relationships.

He also pointed out that some artists feel speaking up won’t change anything, so they don’t even try.
“There’s a huge percentage of the artistic industry that has turned their backs on what’s happening in Nigeria,” Illbliss said. “Maybe they believe nothing will change or they just want to play safe.”
Praising Falz for Taking a Stand
Despite his disappointment in many artists, Illbliss took a moment to celebrate rapper Falz, also known as Falz The Bahd Guy.
He praised Falz for using his music to preach about justice and honesty. He recalled how Falz’s album Moral Instruction focused on the problems in the country, even though it didn’t do well commercially.
Illbliss also reminded fans that Falz joined protests and even got arrested while fighting for what’s right.
Calling for More Voices
Illbliss made it clear that more entertainers need to speak up. He believes music has the power to push change and inspire people.
His words serve as a reminder that fame comes with responsibility — and staying silent helps no one.
