Key Points:
- Jarvis started doing hard work as a child to survive and support herself.
- She was once robbed while managing her boss’s shop but was shown kindness instead of punishment.
- Her tough childhood makes it hard for her to express her femininity, but she believes it shaped who she is today.
Popular Nigerian TikToker and content creator, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, known as Jarvis, has opened up about her painful past.
The Edo-born star, who has gained a massive following online for her humour and honesty, recently shared her childhood struggles during a TikTok livestream. She spoke with emotion, recalling how she was forced to work like an adult while still a child.
According to Jarvis, she had to start working very early to survive. These experiences, she said, may be the reason why she finds it hard to fully embrace her feminine side today.

Childhood Full of Struggles
Jarvis said her tough upbringing shaped who she is today.
“At a young age, I became a man,” she confessed. “Maybe that is why it’s hard for me to act like a lady. I was forced to start doing things early. I worked under many people. I really suffered.”
She did many small jobs, including working as a salesgirl in different shops. She said she wanted to make her bosses proud because she hoped to build a better life.
-A Shocking Day at Work
One painful memory she shared was about the day she was robbed at work.
“My madam travelled and left her shop with me. I really wanted to make good sales to impress her,” Jarvis said. “But that day, I got robbed.”
When her boss returned, she was shocked and scared. But to her surprise, her boss did not get angry. Instead, she comforted her.
“She even told me not to cry too much,” Jarvis remembered. “She said she would remove the money for the stolen items from my salary, but I can’t remember if she later forgave that debt. But I love her.”
“People Just Love Me Naturally”
Jarvis believes her story makes many people feel for her.
“People just look at me and feel sympathy,” she said. “They love me naturally, even without knowing me deeply.”

She also shared how proud she feels when she thinks of how far she has come from those hard days.
“I’m sure my old bosses will be happy seeing the person I’ve become,” she said.
Jarvis continues to use her story to inspire others, especially young people going through tough times.
