Popular Nigerian content creator Carter Efe has apologised to music superstar Wizkid following a public outburst that reportedly led to the suspension of his main social media accounts.
The skit maker, whose real name is Odahohwo Joseph Efe, faced heavy backlash after a video of him mocking Wizkid went viral. In the clip, Efe called the Grammy-winning singer a “sior” (an insult for idiot) and said, “That boy too get pride.”

His rant came shortly after Wizkid ignored him but interacted with fellow comedian Shank Comics. Feeling snubbed, Carter Efe went live on TikTok and criticised the singer harshly.

Not long after the incident, Wizkid’s loyal fanbase — known as Wizkid FC — allegedly began reporting Carter Efe’s social media pages. As a result, his Instagram account with over 1.8 million followers was taken down. Shortly afterwards, his TikTok account also disappeared.
The incident quickly became a trending topic online, with many users mocking Efe’s behaviour and apparent regret. In response, he posted an emotional video pleading with Wizkid and his fans.

In the now-viral apology video, Carter Efe appeared teary-eyed and remorseful. He said:
“FC una collect my Instagram account of 1.8 million followers. TikTok account gone. FC, una betrayed me. Abeg make una forgive me. Wizkid, abeg no vexxx. Help me beg FC, abeggggg.”
Despite his plea, Efe stood by his earlier claim. He added, “Everybody knows Wizkid get pride. No be today.” His words, however, drew more criticism as many felt he was still being disrespectful even while apologising.
Earlier Comments Added Fuel to the Fire
Before this, Carter Efe had praised Wizkid publicly but also lashed out at the singer’s critics. Recall that he commented under a post about Wizkid’s song IDK featuring Zlatan Ibile, showing admiration for the artist while cursing people who didn’t support him.

That comment also drew backlash from social media users, who called him out for switching sides too easily.
For now, Wizkid has not made any public comment regarding the situation. Still, fans of both stars are watching closely to see how things unfold.
