- The rumour originated from an unverified eyewitness account circulating online.
- Cubana Chief Priest has not issued any official statement regarding the alleged incident.
Popular Nigerian music boss, Ubi Franklin, has broken his silence over viral rumours that he got into a violent fight with nightlife entrepreneur, Cubana Chief Priest, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
The reports, which spread fast on social media and blogs, claimed that the two men exchanged heavy punches during a heated argument in the hotel.

An unnamed eyewitness quoted by several platforms said the brawl was intense and attracted a large crowd. Some described the scene as “not for the faint-hearted.”
But Ubi Franklin has now denied everything. In a short message posted on his Instagram Story—later deleted—he blasted the reports as false and attacked the credibility of those sharing it.
“Anyone who believes this story, especially the narrative on Instablog written by a blogger in an attempt for relevance, is a fool lol,” he wrote.
The Rumour and the Backlash
The rumour started earlier last night when several entertainment blogs reported that Ubi Franklin and Cubana Chief Priest had clashed at the hotel. One blog claimed the altercation involved “serious blows” and that it needed others to step in.
No videos or photos have surfaced to confirm the claims. Also, no security or hotel staff have made any public statement about the alleged event. That has made many question how true the report is.
Social media quickly picked up the story, with fans reacting in different ways. Some were shocked. Others doubted the story from the start. A few even said both men were simply victims of online gossip.
Ubi Franklin’s sharp response helped fuel more attention. Though he deleted the post quickly, screenshots of it were already being shared across different platforms.
Silence From Cubana Chief Priest
At the time of writing, Cubana Chief Priest has not said anything about the rumour. His silence has added to the mystery. Some fans say he might be avoiding drama. Others think he should speak up to clear the air.

So far, there is no proof that a fight happened. Ubi Franklin’s public denial and the lack of evidence suggest the story may have been made up or exaggerated.
Still, the rumour has kept people talking. It has also shown once again how fast unconfirmed news can go viral in Nigeria’s online space.
