Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe is now receiving medical treatment after a scary incident happened on a film set. He was injured during a movie shoot that involved well-known actor Zubby Michael. According to Nnadiekwe, he was kicked in the chest during a scene, but the kick was not part of the script.
The painful event left him in need of hospital care. He later spoke out on Instagram to share his side of the story and to call attention to a serious issue—safety on movie sets. His message was not to blame anyone, but to warn others and raise awareness.
A Kick That Was Not in the Script
Godwin Nnadiekwe explained the accident in a long post on Instagram. He said the kick to his chest was not planned and was not given by the director. It happened suddenly and caught him off guard.
He described the pain as serious and said he had to find treatment on his own. No one from the set helped him at the time. He added that many Nollywood film sets do not have proper insurance or first aid, which makes such accidents even more dangerous.
He wrote, “This isn’t to call anyone out. But we need to put safety first on every set. We must follow the script. We must make sure everyone feels safe and respected.”
Actor Shares His Pain and Worry
In his post, Godwin sounded sad but hopeful. He shared that he was now on medication and hoped to feel better soon. But he also warned that the situation could have been worse.
“What if this had gone south?” he asked. “Every move in a scene, especially physical ones, should be planned and agreed upon.”
He urged Nollywood actors and directors to look out for each other. He reminded everyone that health and safety should come first at all times.
Management Speaks Out and Confirms Injury
Later that same day, Godwin’s management team released an official statement. They confirmed that he was taken to the hospital after the kick. Doctors said he was suffering from internal bleeding.
The statement read, “We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is now receiving treatment for internal bleeding caused by a chest injury.”
The management also promised to give updates to fans and to the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). They thanked everyone for their love and support during this time.
