- – Femi Falana has strongly denied accusations from Martins Otse claiming he sought a N10 million bribe for a presidential pardon for social media star Bobrisky.
- – Falana’s legal team demands a public apology and retraction from Otse within 24 hours, warning of potential legal action for defamation if not met.
- – Bobrisky also faced allegations of bribery related to money laundering charges but refuted these claims, saying he did not bribe EFCC officials.

Renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana has firmly rebutted serious accusations made against him by Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
In a recently circulated audio clip, Otse claims that Falana was seeking a presidential pardon for controversial social media personality Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, in exchange for a substantial sum of N10 million.
Falana has described these allegations as a malicious and reckless attempt to tarnish his reputation.
A Call for Retraction and Apology
In a letter addressed to VeryDarkMan, Falana’s legal representative, Taiwo Olawanle, demanded a swift retraction of the damaging statements as well as an apology to be published on all platforms where the claims were made.
Falana maintains that he has never communicated with Bobrisky regarding any matter, let alone a potential presidential pardon.
“Our client has never, in his life, spoken to Bobrisky about his alleged pardon or on any matter whatsoever,” the letter emphasised. It also highlighted the potentially harmful implications of the allegations, stating that they serve only to undermine Falana’s standing in the eyes of the public.
The letter further warned that if a public retraction and apology are not received within 24 hours, legal action may be pursued against Otse for what Falana’s team describes as defamatory statements.
Bobrisky Responds to Claims of Bribery
In the same viral audio, Bobrisky made own allegations, claiming that unnamed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) demanded N15 million from him to dismiss ongoing money laundering charges.
However, in a subsequent post on Instagram, Bobrisky refuted these claims, denying any bribery of EFCC officials. He stated that he had completed his jail sentence and did not resort to bribing anyone regarding his legal troubles.
The unfolding saga highlights the intertwined dynamics of social media, celebrity culture, and the legal realm in Nigeria, with high-profile figures often at the centre of sensational controversies.
As the situation develops, it remains to be seen how both Falana and Bobrisky navigate the fallout from these allegations and the responses they evoke.

With Falana’s firm stance on the matter, this situation is set to attract considerable attention in both legal circles and the public domain in the coming days.
