Prophet Claims to Follow Teachings of Christ
Nigerian social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, known online as Verydarkman, has responded to widespread reports claiming that Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, the founder and head of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry in Warri, Delta State, has forgiven him.
The supposed act of forgiveness has been a hot topic online, especially after a screenshot declaring the prophet’s decision to drop legal actions against Verydarkman went viral on the morning of August 1.
The text, reportedly from Prophet Fufeyin, emphasized Christian principles as the basis for his decision.
It read: “Verydarkman, I, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, extend forgiveness to you. I am withdrawing the court case against you. Following the teachings of Jesus, who preached peace and corrected sinners, I forgive you. May you learn from your mistakes and walk in righteousness from now on, my son.”
Despite the viral nature of the message, a thorough review of the clergyman’s social media pages yielded no direct evidence that the statement originated from him.
This discrepancy has raised questions about the authenticity of the message.
Verydarkman’s Reaction and Future Plans
In response to the viral message, Verydarkman expressed his scepticism about its authenticity.
While he acknowledged that there was a possibility the message could be genuine, he made it clear that he would not accept the prophet’s apology.
Verydarkman explained that Prophet Fufeyin’s announcement of a 1 billion naira lawsuit against him had caused significant emotional distress.
Even if the prophet decided to withdraw the legal case, Verydarkman stated he would pursue a countersuit against him. He accused the general overseer of contributing to his depression and sadness.
Furthermore, the TikTok influencer, often known for his passionate online persona, mimicked tears in a video where he mentioned using the proceeds from the countersuit for charitable purposes.
He highlighted that his conflict with the religious leader was centred on ensuring that citizens were not purchasing substandard products.
