The tragic event occurred in Southport, a coastal town in northwest England. According to the Merseyside Police, the attack left three young girls dead. A 9-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries at a regional hospital on Tuesday, a day after the attack. Two additional victims, aged 6 and 7, lost their lives during the Monday event, as reported by BBC News.

The violence also resulted in multiple injuries. Five other children and two adults are currently in critical condition and are receiving intensive medical care.
