The suspects apprehended have been identified as Alicia Andrews, 21; Isaiah Chance Jr., 21; and Sean Gathright, 18. Continuing Investigation and Further Warrants
The police have not yet finished their investigation. Arrest warrants are still out for two other suspects, Davion Murphy, 27, and Rashad Murphy, 30. Both are wanted for first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
According to the police, the five suspects had plotted over three days to kill Julio Foolio. Authorities say they travelled from Jacksonville to Tampa on June 22 in two separate vehicles as part of a plan to murder the rapper. Their motives appear to be linked to ongoing disputes between rival gangs in Jacksonville.
The Incident and Gang Involvement
On the fateful day of June 23, Chance and Andrews allegedly tracked Julio Foolio and his entourage to a hotel in Tampa. It was there that Foolio was tragically killed and three others were injured in the violent attack.
The suspects are believed to be members of two different gangs known as ‘ATK’ and ‘1200,’ while Julio Foolio was reportedly affiliated with the ‘6 Block’ gang. The police have highlighted the gang feud as a central factor in the motive behind the murder.
The Tampa Police Department continues to urge the public for any additional information that could lead to the apprehension of Davion and Rashad Murphy. As the investigation proceeds, more updates are expected from law enforcement.
This tragic event underscores the devastating impacts of gang rivalries, and the police department remains committed to bringing all responsible parties to justice.
