Josephina Ijeoma Otabor, the winner of Big Brother Naija Level Up show, recently discussed the impact she has had on the hype women in the entertainment industry. She asserted that she has paved the way for all the hype girls who have followed in her footsteps.
During a recent podcast, Phyna spoke about her career in hyping, noting that prior to her participation in the 2022 Big Brother Naija show, she was the only hype girl in Abuja. She observed that after she left the show, she noticed that some women had used her influence in the hype industry to become hype girls themselves. It is evident that she has paved the way for them.
Phyna acknowledged that while a woman named Hype Empress paved the way for her years ago, she has indirectly paved the way for all the hype women who have followed in her footsteps. She believes that all the hype women who have come after her would agree that she has opened doors for them in the industry.
Phyna concluded her remarks by stating that it is disappointing to see people in the industry claim that no one has paved the way for them, when in fact someone must have done so either directly or indirectly.

She emphasized that her success in the industry was not handed to her on a silver platter, but rather the result of her hard work and perseverance. She encouraged other women who aspire to be hype girls to stay focused on their goals and work hard towards achieving them.
Furthermore, Phyna’s statement highlights the importance of recognizing those who have paved the way for others in the industry. It is important to acknowledge those who have had an impact and to give credit where it is due. This also encourages new talents to emerge and contribute to the growth of the industry.
In conclusion, Phyna’s success in the hype industry has paved the way for other women who aspire to become hype girls. Her hard work and dedication have been an inspiration to many, and her success in the industry is a testament to the fact that with hard work and perseverance, one can achieve anything. It is important to recognize those who have paved the way for others in the industry and to encourage new talents to emerge.
She said, “Before Big Brother, I used to be a hype woman. I was the only hype girl in Abuja and I was getting known. I was going to clubs they were already knowing me.
“So, when I went to the BBNaija show and came out, I started seeing plenty hype girls. Before, we used to be few. Whether they like it or not, I paved way for them, because they started realizing that a hype girl can go big.
“Even when I went to Ghana, about four girls came to me and said they’re hype Queens and a lot of them follow me on Instagram. I sit down everyday and see girls disclosing about their hype status. Tomorrow they will say no one paved way for them, but they actually saw me doing it first.
“As for me, I saw someone, Hype Empress doing it first and I thought I could do it. So, she paved way for me, and I paved the way for others. So, when I see people saying nobody paved the way for them I feel may be because it wasn’t a direct influence.”
