Big Brother Naija season 8 housemate and former Level Up star Ilebaye Odiniya survives what could have been first disqualification in the history of Big Brother All Stars show.
Recall that Ilebaye and Cee C engaged in a very heated altercation after the Saturday night party, following unforeseen issues between the two.
On the evening of Sunday, Day 14 of the show, Big Brother called Housemates to the lounge where he issued a statement, warning, and strike to the housemates involved.
For laying her hands on her fellow housemates CeeC and Doyin, Ilebaye has been issued a double strike for physical violence. CeeC found herself in a violent situation but her acts did not make the situation any better. “For walking back into an already volatile situation and making it worse, Big Brother finds you guilty of goading”.
CeeC and Ilebaye are both barred from partaking in the head of House game for this week (one week). “You may also not partake in the black envelope game. You may also not be nominated for Pardon Me Please”. This means for this week they are automatically nominated and up for possible eviction.
Big Brother announced this in the lounge, just before the first eviction show. Should Ilebaye and Cee C survive tonight they will be barred from partaking in head of house, black envelope and pardon me please for the next week.
“While disagreements and confrontations are expected, Big Brother also expects a level of understanding and maturity befitting the ccaliberof housemates you are. After all, you are… all stars. The rules of Big Brother’s house are clear”.
Big Brother then revisited Article 15 of the rule book titled “Prohibited Behaviour”. This article lists five behaviours considered prohibitive by Big Brother;
“The first prohibited behaviour listed is Violence, which may lead to an instant disqualification of the involved housemates. Word for word, here is what the paragraph says: Any housemate who becomes physically violent towards another will be removed from the house immediately”.
Big Brother asked Ilebaye if she had read the rule book, to which she responded in the affirmative.
Again, word for word, Big Brother proceeded:
“Violence may refer to self inflicted violence or violence towards another. Other types of violence includes provocation, goading, bullying and victimization”.
Adding that all of these are punishable by Big Brother.
Big Brother added that should Cee C survive Sunday’s eviction process, she will be issued a punishment during the week. The details, Big Brother will share with her on a later date. For Illebaye, one more strike and she will be immediately disqualified from the Big Brother Naija All Stars house. Illebaye seemed relieved by the double strike, it was evident that she expected worse.
“Similarly, should you survive tonight’s eviction process, you will be issued a punishment during the week. The details, Big Brother will share with you on a later date,” Big Brother added to Cee C.
Meanwhile, Big Brother summed up that Doyin and Princess are also not innocent in this matter and issued them a warning. “In the middle of the violence rather than diffuse the situation your acts escalated matters”.
In conclusion, Big Brother warned all the housemates, putting in that acts of violence includes inserting yourself in a manner that escalates a matter.
